Day 29 - 71 miles from Sioux Falls, SD to Worthington, MN

A beautiful day with hardly a cloud in the sky. Wonderful temperatures in the 70's and 80's but we did have humidity of course its the Midwest! Anne and Michael rode the tandem.

The highlights of this ride were leaving Sioux Falls on an 8-mile bike path that wound around through many trees, creeks, bridges, passing runners and cyclists and we passed downtown Sioux Falls along the way. The path ended at the next highlight - the Falls, as shown below.

Panoramic view of the Falls.

The final highlight was saying goodbye to SD and entering MN, our fifth state.

MN greeted us with a detour because the planned road was being repaved. The detour, just as we crossed the State line, took us on gravel for the first time and it was for 3 miles.

MN like IA has field after field of corn and beans.

Thanks to Don, a rider who is great at taking pictures while riding, here we are in action on our way to Worthington. Notice the corn field on the right.

We had two great meals at the Ground Round in Worthington - Cajun Salmon and Sirloin Tips and ice cream sundaes. Yummy!

Tomorrow, we will take the tandem 64 of the 106 miles to Mankato, MN. Hope the wind is favorable.
